It was an easy afternoon win for Zalgiris against Lietkabelis 88-74 in the semi-final of the SIL-King Mindaugas Cup. Earlier today Lietuvos Rytas had no problems to prevail over Alytaus Dzukija (81-61).
Zalgiris built an 8 points (25-17) lead after the first quarter thanks to a 6-0 run in the last 2 minutes of the first period. After that, a team coached by Lithuanian legend Sarunas Jasikevicus was in a complete charge.
They were all over the floor extending their lead up to 20 points (54-34) after the first half with Brandon Davies scoring 9 points in 8 minutes on the floor.
Things remained the same in the second half as Zalgiris triumphed easily. Davies led Zalgiris with 17 points and also grabbing 7 rebounds. Kevin Pangos added 13 points while Darjus Lavrinovic had game-high 18 points for Lietkabelis.
The final game is scheduled for Sunday.
