Maccabi Tel Aviv flirted with their second straight loss at home in the Winner League but the Maccabees managed to defeat Hapoel Jerusalem 77 – 74.
The visiting side dominated the first half taking 31 – 38 advantage with three minutes left. Hapoel reached double-digit leads in the second half (52 – 64, 30′) but Norris Cole led Neven Spahija’s men reaction (72 – 71, 38′). The point guard led all scorers with 22 points while Michael Roll added 13. Richard Howell’s 15 weren’t enough for the guests.
With Maccabi up by one and 20 seconds remaining, Jerome Dyson missed two clutch free throws and the hosts got the win.The winners stay on top of the standings after improving to a 15-4 record.
