Former basketball player Henry Williams, who spent the majority of his career in Italy, passed away Tuesday (13/3) at 47 years of age.
Williams, who was a pastor at the Charlotte’s New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, had been diagnosed with kidney disease back in 2009.
In 1999, Williams led Benetton Treviso to the Saporta Cup title Finals MVP and Top Scorers honors. Two years before that, he helped Treviso win the Italian League and Cup titles.
Williams also played for such teams as Virtus Roma, and Cremona. With the latter, he also participated in the 2000 – 2001 EuroLeague.
