After arriving in Lithuania on January, LaVar Ball had said that his two sons would stay in Vytautas until the end of the season. This, however, is not the case.
The famous father had also been on the record saying that LaMelo Ball will stay in Lithuania until he is eligible to declare for the NBA Draft and in his case that would be in 2020. Eventually, the plan changed, and LaMelo is set to leave Vytautas next week.
As ’15 min’ reported, the ‘Ball Brothers’ are leaving Lithuania and are flying back to Los Angeles on Sunday-Monday. BC Vytautas had two more critical LKL regular season games left to play to avoid relegation, but LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball will not be with the team.
LaVar Ball stated that this is a waste of time for him and his sons: “We are not going to waste our time no more.” LiAngelo had injured his ankle and thus could not play, while LaMelo was not getting enough playing time in the Lithuanian League.
For the record, LiAngelo Ball averaged 12.6 points in 14 games for Vytautas, while LaMelo put up 6.5 points and 2.4 assists in the LKL.
