Zalgiris Kaunas tightened the schedule in order play the games which were postponed due to their EuroLeague obligations and after an 85-76 win against Pieno Zvaigzdes on Saturday secured the first place in the Lithuanian League with two matches left to play.
It wasn’t easy for Zalgiris to break the opponent’s resistance as they had trouble with turnovers, losing the ball 19 times in comparison to ten by Pieno players but they were patient and used the advantage below the basket to score while controlling the paint and rebounding (42-29 in rebound battle).
Brandon Davies led the victors with 18 points and eight rebounds while Aaron White helped with 11 points. On the other side, Osvaldas Olisevicius played great and scored game-high 24 points while adding eight rebounds but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.
