A tight schedule didn’t bother the current champion and after a 96-75 road win got a 2-0 lead against Nevezis. Zalgiris Kaunas is one victory away from advancing to the semifinals.
Nevezis didn’t have an answer for the host’s offense led by Axel Toupane with 22 points while Vasilije Micic scored 14 in addition to Paulius Jankunas’s 13 points. For the losing team, Lester Medford scored 16 and got some help from James Woodard with 15 points.
Because of Zalgiris‘ participation in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four, their quarterfinal series against Nevezis in Lithuanian League had to be postponed and it’s the only one left undecided.
Game 3 is scheduled already for tomorrow (25th of May) when Zalgiris will try to end the series in front of their own crowd.
