Arturas Milaknis scored six triples out of seven attempts and led Zalgiris Kaunas to a 96-83 home win against Lietuvos Rytas in Game 1 of Lithuanian League Finals.
Milaknis finished the game with 24 points while Brandon Davies was right behind him with 21 (8/13 from the field). On the other side, Rokas Giedraitis scored 17 in addition to Mindaugas Girdziunas’ 13 points.
Although trailing by a five-point margin at the halftime (50-45), Rytas managed to decrease the deficit to one point (61-60) but in the following two minutes, the crucial 11-2 run led by Milaknis’ three shots from behind the arc gave Zalgiris the 72-62 lead from which the guests couldn’t recover.
Game 2 in the best-of-seven series is scheduled for Monday 11th of June as the home-court advantage shifts to Lietuvos Rytas.
