Lietuvos Rytas tied the Lithuanian League Finals series against Zalgiris with a win in Game 2 after surviving the opponent’s comeback effort. As the match was getting closer to the end so the atmosphere in the arena got more and more heated up and there was also a not exactly pretty incident.
Vasilije Micic went out of bounds after he was fouled on a fast break layup in the fourth quarter and stopped exactly in front of the home team supporters. One fan, in particular, couldn’t control himself and pushed the Zalgiris point guard from behind.
The most surprising part was that the security didn’t react at all and even allowed the fan to continue watching from the same place near the court.
Micic personally didn’t have a comment while Zalgiris director Paulius Moteijunas shared a few words on Twitter: “Tell me another sports league where after such behavior a ‘fan’ can go back and continue watching the game in the arena…”
