The first week of 2019 was a big one for Jaylen Hoard. The 19-year-old French forward started it off with a career-high 23 points and personal-best-tying 15 rebounds in Wake Forest’s 83-61 victory over Cornell. He followed up his third NCAA double-double with 19 points in a 92-79 defeat to Georgia Tech.
Lithuanian Ignas Brazdeikis and Serb Djordje Dimitrijevic also impressed this week, while Francisco Alonso and Martin Krampelj averaged over 16 points. However, promising Hoard’s best NCAA week overshadowed the rest of the European field.
