Ventspils was crowned champion of the 2019 Latvian/Estonian League by beating fellow Latvian team VEF Riga 102-80 in the competition’s Final of the inaugural season of the championship.
Rihards Lomazs scored 26 points for the winning side and won MVP of the league’s Final Four. Maris Gulbis added 12 points and Ingus Jakovics 18.
For Riga, Steve Zack had 19 points and Glenn Cosey 15.
Ventspils had defeated Latvian team Ogre 84 – 80 in the semifinal while Riga had prevailed over Estonian squad Kalev/Cramo 90 – 80.
