Brandon Davies scored 18 points in 12 minutes as Zalgiris Kaunas beat Dzukija 89 – 70 in Game 1 of the Lithuanian League quarterfinals.
Kerem Kanter dropped a game-high 30 points and grabbed six rebounds for Dzukija but his performance didn’t hurt the hosts who were vastly superior in the second half. Sarunas Jasikevicius’ players outplayed their opponents 27 – 17 in the third period to reach the final quarter up 69 – 58. They retained control for the remainder of the match.
Leo Westermann contributed an all-around output of 15 points, five assists, five rebounds to Zalgiris. Paulius Petrilevicius had 12 points and eight boards for Dzukija.
