Maccabi Tel Aviv had everything under control against Maccabi Ashdod as they grabbed a convincing 93-70 home win in the Israeli League.
With this win, Maccabi Tel Aviv improved to 26-6 and secured the first place at the standings grabbing it in front of UNET Holon (23-8) which had the tiebreaker advantage. Maccabi Ashdod stayed at a 12-20 record just outside the playoff zone.
Jake Cohen led the victors with 20 points followed by Scottie Wilbekin’s 16. Alex Tyus flirted with a double-double by scoring 13 points and adding nine boards.
For Maccabi Ashdod, Lis Shoshi banked 20 points along with eight boards in addition to Spencer Weisz and Mark Tollefsen’s 12 points each.
