One of the key figures during the last four summers of the Basketball Tournament will be absent this year. Errick McCollum, member of the four-time champions Overseas Elite, will take a break due to his marriage.
“Yes, it is true”, McCollum said to Eurohoops after the end of his season in the VTB United League with Unics Kazan: “After four championships in a row I will be sitting this TBT out. A small sacrifice I’m happy to make since my fiancé is usually the one making all the sacrifices for me and my career. With my wedding, and honeymoon I just don’t have the time and the dates would conflict with the tournament. This summer I will rest for a couple of weeks, spend the summer focusing on family, being a husband and as always training and preparing for the up and coming 2019-2020 season”.
A 2016 EuroCup winner with Galatasaray, McCollum spend this season in Russia and once more proved to be one of the best scorers in European basketball, competing both in the VTB United League and the 7DAYS EuroCup.
