Partizan Belgrade president Ostoja Mihajlovic stated that the Serbian club will examine the possibility of leaving the Serbian League.
“Partizan doesn’t allow its players and coaches to be exposed to things that have nothing to do with sports and will do everything to protect them from a scandal like this match tonight! In the morning, we will have a meeting where we will seriously consider whether we will continue participating in the Serbian League,” Mihajlovic tweeted following the loss of Partizan to archrival Crvena Zvezda in Game 1 of the Serbian League Finals.
After the match, Partizan head coach Andrea Trinchieri, who was ejected with two technical fouls early in the fourth quarter, mentioned that “The Finals must be decided by players, not by people who must be imperceptible, who think they are stars. This is a shame, let us play basketball. They hurt me the whole game, it’s no respect.”
Game 2 is planned for Wednesday (12/6).
