Crvena Zvezda mts had an upper hand in the fourth quarter but Partizan NIS bounced back and thanks to Rade Zagorac’s heroics won 73-72 in Game 2 of the Serbian League Finals.
Mouhammad Faye gave Zvezda 72-70 with a tip-in with six seconds left but in the following offense, Zagorac – who missed all of his six attempts from deep – banked a triple over Billy Baron which gave Partizan the win.
Marcus Paige led the victors with 19 points (4-8 triples) followed by Nikola Jankovic’s 13 points and ten rebounds. For Zvezda, Faye scored 14 and Dejan Davidovac 11 points.
Partizan had a better start leading 17-9 after ten minutes and 36-29 at halftime. However, Zvezda turned things around after the break (53-47) and had an upper hand during the fourth quarter (68-61) but Partizan recovered and eventually snatched the win thanks to Zagorac.
Game 3 of the best-of-five series which is now tied at 1-1 will be played on June 15 and Crvena Zvezda will have the home crowd advantage.
