Jeremy Pargo had 20 points to lead six players in double figures in Overseas Elite’s 80-68 victory over Best Virginia. Justin Burrell had 11 points and 10 rebounds to help the four-time champions to their 27th consecutive victory and to the Richmond regional finals of the Basketball tournament.
Overseas Elite – like the TBT in general – includes many familiar names to European basketball fans. Captain DJ Kennedy added 12 points, Bobby Brown also had 12 and DeAndre Kane scored 11. Kevin Jones had 20 points for the losing side.
Former Baylor star Isaiah Austin poured in a game-high 23 points, going 8-for-13 from the field, to lead Loyalty Is Love to an 88-71 win over Fort Wayne Champs. With the win, Loyalty Is Love advances to the TBT 2019 Quarterfinals in Chicago August 1-6. The Boogie Cousins-led squad also received strong outings from Darius Johnson-Odom (18 points, 5 rebounds).
Taylor Braun made a layup to cap a 6-0 run and send Eberlein Drive to Chicago, courtesy of a dramatic 68-67 victory over Team Challenge ALS with included Dee Bost, Marquez Haynes, Austin Daye, and D.J.Strawberry.
