Former overall No. 2 Draft pick and NBA champion Darko Milicic played his first basketball game in seven years. The 34-yer-old player is a member of the “KK I Came to Play” Serbia’s Fourth Division team that is based in Novi Sad, Serbia.
According to NBA Serbia, Milicic scored two points against Futog before exiting the game due to a shoulder injury.
It was Milicic’s first game following his sole appearance with the Boston Celtics in 2012. Since then, the Serbian big man was absent from any basketball action. He came close to return to courts in 2015 with ABA League and Serbian League club Metalac Farmakom but despite an agreement with the team, he didn’t play any game.
Milicic won the 2004 NBA title with the Detroit Pistons, the team that selected him with the No. 2 overall pick in 2003. He spent nine years plus the one game with the Celtics before he announced his retirement from the league.
