The duel between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem went down to the wire but the latter came out on top 92-90 and advanced to the Israeli Cup semifinals.
Maccabi’s Othello Hunter tied the game at 90 with 12 seconds left after which Hapoel scored twice from the free-throw line.
J’Covan Brown and James Feldeine made one out of two free throws each to set the final score while Maccabi couldn’t organize their offense turning the ball and the game over to Hapoel.
Brown finished with 19 points as did Trent Lockett while Feldeine added 15 points. Lockett and Feldeine also grabbed five boards each.
For Maccabi, Scottie Wilbekin banked 22 points in addition to Nate Wolters’ 16. Hunter logged 15 points and 11 boards.
