Boris Diaw opted to leave Metropolitans 92, ten months after being elected president of the French club, the team announced.
Previous president remaining part of the front office, Jean-Pierre Aubry commented on Diaw’s resignation via Le Parisien. “It’s a big loss for us,” he noted, “He wants his distance, one can only respect his decision. He was a perfect ambassador for us.”
The retired player assumed his position as president on July 4, 2019, nine months after concluding his playing career he finished on a one-year stint with Metropolitans 92. Previously played 1,183 NBA games including 119 playoff contests.
Following his short-lived tenure as president of the French club, the 2014 NBA champion will focus on other personal projects.
Member of the management board, Alain Bouvard was named interim president.
