Elan Bearnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez, EBPLO, provided an update on the players affected by the coronavirus announcing that five more members of the pro squad tested positive.
Per the press release: “Following the identification of a COVID-19 cluster on Monday, September 28 within Elan Bearnais (11 people including 4 professional staff), all contact cases were tested on Friday, October 2. These new tests were positive for 5 other pro players. To date, it is the entire professional team that is affected, as well as almost all of the youth team.
Operations for both teams remain suspended as the club continues to apply the LNB health protocol. Each person found positive is supervised and benefits from medical monitoring, as are those around them. The next check, which will be carried out on Monday, October 5, will concern people who tested positive last Monday. Severely affected, Elan Bearnais is all the more united and wishes to see the entire group as soon as possible back in action.”
