Scott Bamforth scored 31 points as Le Mans defeated ASVEL Villeurbanne 105 – 96 in overtime for Round 25 of the French Jeep Elite League and bounced back to wins after three straight losses.
Bamforth was also the player who forced the extra period with a tough layup in the very last second of regulation and after Le Mans trailed 72 – 78 with 50 seconds to play. He finished with 9-15 from the field and 1-1 from the line as his team caught up with ASVEL at 7 – 5.
Ovie Soko delivered 28 points and six rebounds for Le Mans.
ASVEL was leading for the vast majority of the game but crumbled down in the last minute and was completely dominated in overtime. Guerschon Yabusele had 27 points and five rebounds while Thomas Heurtel posted 19 points, eight assists and five boards for the visiting squad.
