The French Jeep ELITE League had major scheduling issues throughout the year due to the coronavirus pandemic and while the rest of the major leagues across Europe are already well into the playoffs, in France, the regular season is yet to be completed with five rounds remaining.
With this in mind among other things, the French League decided that the champion of the 2020-2021 season will be decided in a Final Four format. The tournament will be held on June 24-26 in Rouen’s “Le Kindarena”.
Prior to the final stage, the quarterfinals will be held in a knockout format with the top four regular-season teams having the home-court advantage.
The postseason won’t affect the standings when it comes to qualifying for the European competition and only the regular season will be taken into consideration.
At the moment, Monaco tops the league with a 22-4 record followed by Dijon (23-6), ASVEL (22-6), and Strasbourg (19-9). The next four are JL Bourg (19-11), Levallois (17-12), Le Mans (15-13), and Limoges (15-13). Orleans (15-14) and Nanterre (14-15) are just outside the Top 8 zone and have a realistic chance to sntach a ticket.
