Rashard Kelly scored 28 points and David Holston added 20 points plus 12 assists as JDA Dijon beat ASVEL Villeurbanne 82 – 75 in a game for Round 22 of the French Jeep Elite League.
NBA superprospect Victor Wembanayama was the leading scorer for ASVEL with a career-high-tying 14 points. He also grabbed eight rebounds during the 28:21 minutes he spent on the floor.
Dijon entered the game in a powerful fashion to lead 22 – 8 near the end of the first period. ASVEL recovered to close halftime down 43 – 38 and was up 57 – 58 near the end of the third quarter.
The final period belonged to Dijon who finished the game strong to take its 14th win in 22 games of the regular season so far and climb at the fourth place in the standings. ASVEL dropped to 15-8 and is now third.
On the other hand, AS Monaco was victorious against Roanne with 86-80 on the scoreboard.
Dwayne Bacon scored 15 for the winning team while Rob Gray had 13, as did Paris Lee who dished out eight assists as well.
Roanne’s Johnny Berhanemeskel had a great display with 22 points while Ronald March added 2.
