Paris Lee scored 20 points and Danilo Andjusic had 17 points to lead AS Monaco to an 85 – 76 French League win over Pau Orthez in the Monegasque side’s last game before their first-ever appearance in the EuroLeague playoffs. Monaco will now shift its attention to the EuroLeague quarterfinals against Olympiacos Piraeus that start Wednesday (20/4).
Donatas Motiejunas posted 14 points plus six rebounds, Alpha Diallo scored 14 as well while Brock Motum finished with 12 points for a Monaco squad that led for the vast majority of the game despite Mike James’ absence (rest).
Brandon Jefferson paced Orthez with 19 points. Gregor Hrovat (13 points, four steals), Dominique Archie and Justin Bibbins (13 points) also scored in double figures for the visiting team.
This result improved Monaco to 21-8, the same record as first-seeded Boulogne Metropolitans. Orthez dropped to 16-11 and the sixth place.
