Slightly improved situation emerges for LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne on the Betclic Elite LNB Pro A standings

By Johnny Askounis/ info@eurohoops.net

Hoping to salvage the best-possible seeding for the Playoffs of France’s Betclic Elite LNB Pro A, LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne winning the appeal on the initial decision saw the return of one out of the two wins reduced from the W-L tally in France’s top-tier division.

The original sanction also included a €100,000 fine for irregularities on the contracts of Nando De Colo and Joffrey Lauvergne, which was kept on the secondary decision issued by the French Basketball Federation, FFBB. From the Appeals Chamber, ASVEL can file yet another appeal through the Administrative Court.

Finishing the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season with a league-low 8-26 record, the team coached by T.J. Parker since focusing on domestic competitions made its way to Palais des Sports de Pau yesterday, Tuesday. Losing, 87-83, to Elan Bearnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez was far from helpful in contrast to today’s ruling adjusting the tally to 17-11 over 29 games, a 58.6% winning rate ranking fifth overall. De Colo and David Lighty were both left out of the lineup for the Round 30 contest alongside injured Lauvergne (right knee).
