AS Monaco beat Cholet 94 – 86 in a French League game before its trip to Israel for Games 3 and 4 of the EuroLeague playoffs against Maccabi Tel Aviv. The Monegasque side, that has already secured first seed in the Pro A regular season, improved to 26-6 while sixth-placed Cholet dropped to 17-12.
Monaco coach Sasa Obradovic rested Jordan Loyd, the MVP of Monaco’s Game 2 win and Round 2 of the quarterfinals overall and distributed playing time among his guys. Yakuba Ouattara scored 18 points in 25:51 while Matthew Strazel added 14 points, playing 33:08. Elie Okobo produced 10 points and nine assists during the 24:48 he spent on the floor.
The trio of Dominic Artis (21 points, 10 assists), Perry Ellis (20 points, five rebounds) and T.J. Campbell (17 points) stood out from Monaco.
Tied at 1-1, Monaco and Maccabi will face each other in Game 3 Tuesday (2/5). Game 4 takes place Thursday.
French League reigning champion ASVEL Villeurbanne needed a big 3-pointer by Nando De Colo with seven seconds remaining to overcome Nancy 84 – 83 on the road. The French superstar finished with a team-high 21 points while Youssoupha Fall posted 19 points plus 13 rebounds.

Mike Scott scored 19 points and Frank Mason added 18 points for Nancy, now at 11-20 and tied with Pau Orthez at the 16th spot. ASVEL climbed at 18-11 and the third spot in the standings.
