More than 15,000 fans gathered in Accor Arena, Paris to watch Victor Wembanyama play in his latest French League game with Boulogne Metropolitans. In what has become a usual night for him, the projected No. 1 pick scored 25 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out four assists as his team beat JL Bourg en Bresse 93 – 82.
Wembanyama played 25 minutes and made 6-16 from the field and 12-12 from the free throw line, while also committing five turnovers. His performance had no shortage of his usual highlights.
Tashawn Thomas had 15 points, five rebounds and four assists, while Lahaou Conate scored 14 points for Boulogne. DeVante Jones posted 12 assists to go with his seven points. Bryson Williams (19 points) and James Palmer Jr. (15 points, five steals) stood out from Bourg.
While Wembanyama’s Boulogne remained second in the French League standings, ASVEL Villeurbanne stayed in hot pursuit with one win less after defeating 103-86. Dee Bost had 21 points on 6-7 threes out of 14-27 overall for the winning side.
Standings leader AS Monaco didn’t play this week in France due to the upcoming Game 5 of the EuroLeague playoffs vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv Wednesday (10/4).
