AS Monaco became the first team to advance to the 2024 French League playoffs thanks to a 72 – 68 away win over Gravelines Dunkerque. The reigning champions improved their record to an impressive league-best 23-2.
Alpha Diallo was the top contributor for Monaco with 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists while John Brown added 13 points. Their team trailed 39 – 31 at halftime before making a comeback in the third period and enter the final stretch of the game ahead 58 – 64.
Gravelines responded to cut their deficit to 66 – 67 with two minutes remaining but then Monaco scored four straight points to ultimately get the win. Michael Stockton had 12 points plus nine assists for the hoss.
Antoine Eito drained the winning layup at the buzzer to lift Elan Chalon past ASVEL 88 – 87 in overtime. Eito finished with 17 points while Lionel Gaudux scored 20 for the winning side.
Youssoupha Fall produced 18 points and 11 rebounds for ASVEL. Nando De Colo posted 15 points plus eight assists.
