Losing two games ago against AS Monaco in the latest EuroLeague French derby, ASVEL couldn’t bounce back in the LNB after a roller-coaster game against SIG Strasbourg, losing 82-80.

Leading by three (78-75) entering the last minute of the encounter, ASVEL was first recovered and overcome by Leo Cavaliere before regaining the lead a few seconds later with Youssoupha Fall at the line. However, Tyrus McGee came up clutch with a three-pointer off the backboard to win it.

The game-winning guard ended with 16 points, while Leo Cavaliere finished with the team’s highest-scoring performance at 20 points and 6 rebounds, shooting 10/12 from the field. The former ASVEL player Boris Dallo contributed with 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists.

On the losing side, DeShaun Thomas led with 17 points, followed by Youssoupha Fall’s double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Newly promoted Saint-Quentin surprised AS Monaco

Another game was decided at the last second, as Saint-Quentin pulled the upset to overcome the odds against AS Monaco, which is currently fighting for the home-court advantage in the EuroLeague Playoffs.

The newly promoted French side prevailed 71-69 thanks to William Pfister’s clutch layup at the buzzer. Nate Johnson had 17 points and 5 rebounds for his team in the win against the reigning champions.

AS Monaco, which didn’t have Mike James on board for this game, saw Elie Okobo ending with a 19-point losing effort; Alpha Diallo followed with one of his usual all-around performances with 8 points, 6 boards, and 3 assists. Sasa Obradovic‘s team stays on top with a 24-3 record.
