Mike James scored 31 points in 25 minutes without free throws (!) to lead AS Monaco to a 90 – 80 win over Paris Basketball in Game 1 of the French League Finals.
James shot 8 out of 11 2-pointers and 5-10 threes, including a buzzer beater from beyond half court that closed the break with his team up 45 – 30. Monaco went on to lead 71 – 47 near the end of the third quarter.

Paris tried to come back and reduced the margin to single digits down the stretch when Nadir Hifi drained the triple to make it 81 – 72 with 2:40 to play. James answered with the same currency to keep Monaco completely out of reach.
Elie Okobo provided 15 points for Monaco while Jaron Blossongame had 13 points plus six rebounds.
TJ Shorts led Paris with 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Hifi scored 18.
