ASVEL jumps to 4-0 in France, Nadir Hifi powers up Paris

A dominating display for LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne improved the W-L tally in France’s Betclic Elite to 4-0 on Sunday.

Five players scored in double-digits, fueling an 88-67 victory against ESSM Le Portel in Astroballe.

Admiral Schofield put in a game-high 16 points behind 6/11 field goals in Round 4 of the LNB Regular Season. Theo Maledon added 15 points, Joffrey Lauvergne threw in 14 points, Edwin Jackson finished with 12 points, and Tarik Black added ten points.

Melvin Ajinca, Shaquille Harrison, Mbaye Ndiaye, and Neal Sako did not suit up for the team coached by Pierric Poupet. However, youngsters Paul Mbiya and Yohann Sissoko debuted in the top-tier division of France with the latter also scoring his first point.

In Palais des Sports Jean-Michel Geoffroy, 22-year-old Nadir Hifi dropped 26 points, powering Paris to a win, 97-83, over JDA Dijon and to a 3-1 domestic record. Besides injured Daulton Hommes (leg), Kevarrius Hayes and Sebastian Herrera were sidelined as well.

Defending champion AS Monaco played on Saturday. An 82-62 win over La Rochelle in Salle Gaston Medecin improved the domestic tally to 2-2.
