Returning to France’s Betclic Elite, following a brief stint with Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv at the top of the 2024-25 season, Jordan Loyd was the driving force for AS Monaco in a comeback win, 89-72, against Cholet in Salle Gaston Medecin on Sunday.
The 31-year-old combo guard piled up 24 points in Round 5 of the Regular Season. He was perfect from the field with 4/4 two-pointers and 4/4 three-pointers but missed one of his five free throws.
The visitors built a 14-point advantage in the first half but could not hold on and were forced to 3-1 by the defending champions. La Roca Team registered 52 points after the break, including a 30-8 run in the fourth quarter, to go up to 3-2. Nick Calathes (knee), Petr Cornelie, Mike James, and Furkan Korkmaz (thigh) did not suit up for the team coached by Sasa Obradovic.
With action at Le Colisee spilling into a third overtime, Elan Chalon edged out LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, 109-107. Dusan Ristic placed 23 points in the first win of the season for the team coached by Savo Vucevic. On the losing end, Edwin Jackson had 24 points and Theo Maledon followed with 23 points. Nando De Colo was out alongside Melvin Ajinca, Tarik Black (knee), and Mbaye Ndiaye.
Paris moved up to 4-1 with a comfortable win, 102-86, opposite Nanterre 92 in Accor Arena. Nadir Hifi and T.J. Shorts II put in 18 and 17 points, respectively. Daulton Hommes (leg), Leon Kratzer, and Maodo Lo (foot) remained sidelined.
