The French environment has been playing a huge contribution to the overall growth of European basketball, both on the talent level displayed on courts and economic-wise.
As proof, the LNB announced that this year’s budget of the Betclic ELITE has reached 8.7 million euros on average, with a +10% growth compared to the 2023-24 season. This couldn’t have happened without the three EuroLeague teams in the competition: ASVEL, AS Monaco, and Paris Basketball.
Without taking them into consideration, the growth in budgets between the 2023-24 to the 2024-25 season reduces to +3%. On average, the median budget in Betclic ELITE is 6.3 million euros (+4% compared to the 2023-24 season): this marks the highest in the history of the division.
Most importantly, the newest club on the International scene coming from France is the one with the biggest impact on the evolution of sports budget and salary masses in the LNB Betclic Elite. Paris Basketball’s budget has indeed doubled compared to the 2023-24 season.
