Nolan Traore, a potential lottery pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, led his team Saint Quentin to a major upset in the French Leaders Cup quarterfinals.
Behind 20 points and five assists by Traore, Saint Quentin defeated EuroLeague side Paris Basketball in a knockout to advance to the Cup semifinal stage.
Traore shot 9 out of 15 from the field and 2-3 free throws during the 26 minutes he spent on the floor.
Giovan Oniangue hit the dagger for Saint Quentin with a 3-pointer that made 90 – 86 with 10 seconds remaining. He finished with 12 points while Jerom Robinson scored 17 and Dominik
Olejniczak posted 13 points and 13 rebounds.
TJ Shorts (24 points, five assists) and Nadir Hifi (20 points) scored in double figures for Paris.
Mike James (31 points) couldn’t be denied and AS Monaco downed JL Bourg en Bresse 101 – 88 to punch a ticket to the semifinals. They will face ASVEL Villeurbanne who beat Strasbourg 90 – 75 behind the duo of Theo Maledon (16 points) and Joffrey Lauvergne (16 points).
