AS Monaco banked in an eighth straight win in the Betclic Elite Regular Season by overtaking leader Cholet, 95-84, on Sunday.
After starting the Round 20 contest in La Meilleraie down 25-8 and also trailing by a margin of 19 points early in the second quarter, the back-to-back LNB champions stormed back and went up to 15-4, dropping the hosts to 15-5.
Among seven double-digit scorers, 30-year-old center Mouhammadou Jaiteh finished with 15 points, making 6/7 two-pointers. Mike James followed with 14 points to go with six assists, two rebounds, and one steal. Vitto Brown, Nick Calathes, and Giorgos Papagiannis did not suit up for the team coached by Vassilis Spanoulis.
With 19 points to his name, Jamuni McNeace combined a game-high with a new personal best for the 2024-25 campaign. Bastien Vautier had 14 points.
Earlier in Astroballe, LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne made short work of La Rochelle, 105-75, and improved to 14-6 in the French league. Theo Maledon chipped in 17 points, while Paris Lee and Shaquille Harrison added 14 and 13 points, respectively. David Lighty and Mbaye Ndiaye remained sidelined, nursing knee injuries.
