Playing in the iconic Roland Garros stadium, TJ Parker and Chorale Roanne Basket stole the show, getting the 73-71 win against LDLC ASVEL.
In the first official game of the season, coach Tony Parker was defeated by his own brother and lost the chance to play in the final and fight for the SuperCup title.
It was a close game, with ASVEL trailing for most of it, but tied the score at 71-71 with a shot by Tremont Waters with nine seconds left.
Darius Johnson, with two free throws, gave the lead back to Roanne (73-71) two seconds before the end, and Waters missed the last shot for ASVEL.
Johnson, with 19 points, was the top scorer for the winners, while Waters scored 20. Patty Mills added five points for ASVEL, while Jae Crawder scored nine.
Roanne will face Paris in the final, which beat Nanterre 95-88. TJ Warren and Nadir Hifi, with 22 points each, led the winners. For Nanterre, captain Benjamin Sene scored 17 points.
