In last week’s win of Pau Orthez over Villeurbanne for the French League, D.J. Cooper came really close to achieving a triple-double, registering 19 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds. But it was in tonight’s game vs Gravelines Dunkerque, that the American point guard finally made it happen and in a spectacular manner, no less.
Cooper had a stunning performance of 13 points, 11 assists and 13 (!) rebounds leading his team to a 78 – 65 victory. And while his points and assists output are another day in the office for him, the impressive number of 13 rebounds, marks his personal career best. Actually it’s only the second time that he has ever recorded double-digit numbers in this area of the game.
Orthez now has a 3-1 record in the French Championship with Cooper averaging 17.8 points, 12.3 assists and 8.3 rebounds.
