Limoges was looking for a road victory against Le Portel that would grant them a serious boost in the French League playoffs battle, but things didn’t go as planned.
Far from it actually, since a well-balanced effort by the hosts powered by Darrin Dorsey’s 20 points plus 9 assists, gave them a 80 – 59 victory and the ninth spot in the standings with a 11 – 12 record.
Limoges has the same win/loss ratio but the crucial tie-breaking advantage is at the hands of Le Portel that had also won the first round game between the teams.
In the meantime, Hyeres-Toulon head coach Kyle Milling emerges as a favorite to succeed Dusko Vujosevic at the bench of the Limougeauds, as L’Equipe reports. Dule’s contract expires at the end of the season and the club shows no intention of extending.
Back to Week 23 news, no major changes occurred at the top of the standings. Monaco is still the leader (20-3) and Chalon/Saone (17-6) with Pau Orthez (17-6) are tied at the second place.
