After an intense finale in the series, Strasbourg prevailed over Asvel with 70-69 and made it to the French league finals where they’ll meet Chalon/Saone! The winners took “revenge” for last season’s finals, where they lost 3-2 in the series after leading 0-2.
Such was the development in the semifinals this season only this time, Strasbourg was the one to achieve the impressive comeback.
AJ Slaughter led the winners with 18 points, while NBA Draft prospect Frank Ntilikina finished the game with 10 points and 3 rebounds in 29 minutes.
Asvel was in charge after the first 10 minutes, leading 20-22, then only kept a short advantage at halftime, 33-34.
With less than a minute remaining, A.J. Slaughter became Strasbourg’s hero and pushed them for the final score, while then C. Ware then pushed the visiting team close to one point, to no avail as the game was practically over.
