Pau-Orthez prevailed over Boulazac on the road 70-81 concluding the Day 13 of the French Pro A league. The visiting team erased 9 points deficit from the first half in order to win.
In the first half, Boulazac built 9 points lead with a great defense and solid offence 40-31. The halftime break gave the needed energy to the visitors as they bounced back in the third quarter winning that period 26-18.
The hosts didn’t stay silent as they started the last quarter with a 6-0 run, but the Pau-Orthez bounced back again winning the last quarter 24-12. It was an amazing second-half effort by the visitors as they won the last 20 minutes by 20 points (50-30). Pau-Orthez stopped Boulazac’s shooter as they hit only three triples from sixteen attempts.
Ken Horton led the winners with game-high 20 points and Vitalis Chikoko added 15. Quincy Diggs stepped up for the hosts with 19 points, but that wasn’t enough tonight.
Pau-Orthez now stands on a 7-6 record and Boulazac is on a 4-9.
On Saturday AS Monaco beat Antibes 84 – 76 as they remained on the top of the standings winning 16 of its last 17 games. Boris Diaw had a huge game on Saturday as well as he recorded his first triple-double after returning to Europe.
