AS Monaco snapped Levallois Metropolitans’ winning streak in the French Pro A League. Boris Diaw’s team had won three games in a row before falling against Monaco on the road in a close game.
With 30 seconds left in the last quarter Levallois was up by one point (77-76). Paul Lacombe scored two points for Monaco after an offensive rebound which sealed the deal for the hosts at 78-77.
Levallois was trailing against Monaco until the last quarter. Diaw’s team was able to get the lead down the last stretch. With 5 minutes left in the game, Levallois was up by 70-67.
However, they couldn’t close the game and ultimately suffered their tenth loss of the season. They are now standing on an 8-10 record.
EuroBasket champion with Slovenia Klemen Prepelic tried to push Levallois tonight. His trademark three-point shot wasn’t falling as he was 1/5 from behind the arc. However, his two-point game was working as he had 14 points tonight adding 7 assists as well.
Diaw was involved everywhere on the floor with 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists, but Levallois needed more tonight.
Elmedin Kikanovic was leading Monaco with 15 points and 4 boards. His team now standing on a 14-4 record as they are on the top of the standings.
