Never had a basketball game brought as many people as the Nanterre – ASVEL clash did on Sunday, March 11 at the U Arena. By bringing together 15,220 fans, the Ile-de-France club has demonstrated its ability to organize an event worthy of the highest European standards.
“We have proven our ability to organize. There were important people from FIBA and Euroleague in the game. I know they have a great interest in what happened. We are not gods, but we have done things in recent years. It opens up perspectives”, comments Donnadieu.
The Nanterre coach notes that the ultimate goal would be to join the EuroLeague: “Apply for the Euroleague? Yes. I do not see why we could not do it. We will do everything to apply. It can be the Euroleague in the long term, the Eurocup tomorrow. We must not underestimate ourselves in relation to other clubs”, he added.
