Except for some trouble early in the fourth quarter, Limoges CSP controlled the game and recorded an 81-64 road win against JDA Dijon Basket in Game 2 of ProA League quarterfinals series. With this victory, Limoges advanced to the semifinals where they will clash against AS Monaco Basket.
The guests had a big 14-point advantage (59-45) at the start of the last period but Dijon bounced back with nine straight points (59-54). However, Limoges didn’t allow the scoreless skid to continue answering with an 8-0 run from which the home-team couldn’t recover.
Kenny Hayes scored game-high 21 points for the victors while William Howard and Samardo Samuels added 15 each. For the losing team, Valentine Bigote led the way with 19 points but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.
After surviving Game 1 thriller, AS Monaco Basket had a much easier time in the second game and routed Elan Bearnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez 98-73 winning the series 2-0. They advanced to the ProA semifinals for the first time in club history where they will play against Limoges.
Paul Lacombe led the winning side with game-high 18 points while Elmedin Kikanovic helped with 17 in addition to D.J. Coopers’ 14 points. On the other side, despite not being able to repeat his Game 1 record-breaking performance, Elie Okobo was the most effective player in his team with 14 points.
