Romeo Travis tied his season-high 23 points (16 in the first half) and led Le Mans to an 80-71 road win against Strasbourg for 1-1 tie in ProA League semifinals.
Although Strasbourg had a slight upper hand after the first ten minutes (21-19), Le Mans played an excellent second quarter defensively allowing the opponent only six points while banking 17 themselves to go on the halftime break with a nine-point advantage (36-27). That second quarter push turned out to be crucial as the guests didn’t let the margin decrease below six points securing the game without major problems in the end.
Travis got some help from Justin Cobbs with 20 and Chris Lofton with 19 points. For the losing side, Dee Bost scored 21 points but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.
Game 3 of the best-of-five series is scheduled for Tuesday 5th of June as Le Mans tries to take advantage of their home court.
