Chalons-Reims managed to survive Chalon/Saone’s big fourth-quarter comeback and record a 91-87 home win on Day 10 of French League.
Blake Schilb was on fire for the victors notching a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds while shooting 8/10 from the field. Devin Ebanks followed with 17 in addition to Johan Passave-Ducteil’s 14 points.
For the losing side, Juan Palacios scored 17 while Justin Robinson added 15 points in addition to Vincent Sanford’s 14.
The hosts had a great start leading 30-16 after ten minutes and eventually went on the halftime rest with a 53-35 advantage. They kept the distance during the third quarter (73-57) but Chalon came dangerously close in the final period (85-83). However, home players stayed calm and focused, securing the game from the free throw line.
Chalons-Reims now holds a 5-4 record (one game behind) while Chalon stands at 6-4. The top is reserved for Lyon-Villeurbanne with 8-2 while Antibes stayed at the bottom (1-9).
