Haukur Palsson was on fire as he led Nanterre to an 84-69 home win over Pau-Lacq-Orthez winning the French League quarterfinal series 2-1 and advancing to the semifinals where they will clash with ASVEL. The other semifinal pair features Monaco and Dijon.
Palsson shot 6-8 from deep on his way to game-high 25 points for Nanterre while Nick Johnson added 12 and Julian Gamble 11 points.
On the other side, Vitalis Chikoko scored 17 points in addition to C. J. Harris’ 15 and Donta Smith’s 13 points.
Nanterre went ahead 22-12 early but the guests were the ones with the halftime lead (36-34). The game stayed balanced and Pau-Lacq-Orthez opened the final period with a triple taking the 59-58 lead but Nanterre went off from that moment outscoring the guests 26 to 10 and securing the win.
