ASVEL gambled away a big lead but managed to hold on and record a 73-67 home win over Monaco in Game 2 of the French League Finals.
Theo Maledon scored 12 points for the winning side followed by Amine Noua and DeMarcus Nelson’s ten points each.
For Monaco, Eric Buckner scored game-high 15 points while Gerald Robinson helped with 11 and Yakuba Ouattara with ten points.
The hosts led 21-17 after ten minutes and 40-24 at halftime. They increased the lead to 19 points (45-26) after the break and although Monaco made a big comeback in the fourth quarter (59-57), ASVEL managed to hold them off and secure the win.
ASVEL now leads 2-0 in the best-of-three series and Game 3 will be played on June 20 as the home court advantage switches sides to Monaco’s favor.
