Twenty-five years ago today, Michael Jordan played in the “greatest game he’s ever played in”, per his own words.
That, of course, is the famous scrimmage, which took place in European territory.
The team trained for several days in Monaco before the 1992 Summer Olympics and even though the team held other scrimmages and practices in Monaco and at the training camp in California, this final one on July 22, 1992, was meant to make history.
The two teams of five played in an empty gym, without press, TV cameras, or box scores available, in the presence of John Stockton, Clyde Drexler and head coach Chuck Daly’s video guys from the Pistons, to whom we owe the rare footage of this game.
