Gaziantep delivered the upset of the week in the Turkish BSL League by defeating Fenerbahce Beko 81 – 70 at home behind Stevan Jelovac’s 17 points and 10 rebounds. The team improved to 7-10.
Bobby Dixon scored 16 points and Joffrey Lauvergne had 14 points and nine rebounds for Fenerbahce that was minus Nando De Colo, Kostas Sloukas and Nikola Kalinic. Fener dropped to 13-4 and is now at a three-win distance with first-placed Anadolu Efes (one game less).
Gaziantep was trailing 37 – 38 at halftime only to come out of the locker rooms ready to take over. The hosts outplayed their opponents 23 – 14 in the third period and remained in control. With less than four minutes remaining, Gaziantep went up by 12, 73 – 61 and managed to push back any attempt by Fener to recover.
