Round 4 of the Turkish Basketball League began with an upset since Belediye beat Galatasaray in overtime to capture its first win.
Fethiye Belediyespor – Galatasaray Doga Sigorta 91 – 82
Erick Neal posted a double-double of 25 points and 10 assists to lead Belediyespor to the overtime victory over Galatasaray. He was also the one to score the game-tying basket in regulation as his team came back from down seven in the last 70 seconds to force the extra period.
Abdul-Malik Abu added 21 points for the winning side while Elgin Cook had 11 points and 12 rebounds. George Hamilton led Galatasaray with 18 points.
Darussafaka Tekfen – Afyon Belediye 102 – 77
Andrew Andrews scored 22 points, Dogus Ozdemiroglu had 22 points and five assists as Darussafaka made short work of Afyon. Tanner Leissner (21 points, six rebounds) and Pako Cruz (17 points, seven assists) stood out from the losing side.
Tofas – Pinar Karsiyaka 78-88
The team coached by Ufuk Sarica improved to 3-1. Raymar Morgan putting up a game-high 26 points was key in holding on for the away win.
Semaj Christon finished with 19 points for the hosts.
Petkim Spor – Frutti Extra Bursaspor 108-80
Thomas Wimbush stood out with a 27-point, 13-rebound double-double. Ege Arar produced another double-double, 22 points, and ten rebounds.
On to the other side, Omercan Ilyasoglu scored a team-high 18 points.
Anadolu Efes – Bahcesehir Koleji 89-66
After a 1-1 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague week, the Turkish powerhouse jumped to 4-0 domestically by smashing Bahcesehir. Bugrahan Tuncer made 20 points, Vasilije Micic 19, and Adrien Moerman combined 13 points with nine rebounds.
Erick Green missed the game due to injury but is expected back for the upcoming 7DAYS EuroCup action. Former Anadolu Efes player, Burak Can Yildizli, put up a team-high 19 points in his absence.
Gaziantep – Fenerbahce Beko 59-65
Fenerbahce recovered from a tough week in EuroLeague with a victory over Gaziantep, led by multiple scorers in double digits. Edgaras Ulanovas had 11 points, six rebounds, while Johnathan Hamilton, Danilo Barthel and Tarik Biberovic all scored 10 points.
Gaziantep’s Mouhammadou Jaiteh finished with a double-double of 18 points, 15 rebounds, as Brynton Lemar tapped 12 points.
Turk Telekom – Buyukcekmece 95-89 (OT)
Tyler Ennis flirted with triple-double numbers in Turk Telekom’s victory over Buyukcekmece with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Sam Dekker had 18 points, while Kyle Wiltjer posted a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Karvel Anderson led the visitors with a game-high performance of 27 points, while Osiris Eldridge added 18 points.
Besiktas – Ormanspor 85-91 (OT)
Dwight Hardy and Terrell Holloway paced Ormanspor to the overtime victory with 21 points each and Kadir Bayram had 14 points.
Alperen Şengün had a double-double of 25 points and 15 rebounds for Besiktas, as Sedat Ali Karagülle dropped 18 points and Şehmus Hazer had 13.
